Teen Interactive Star Wars Movie Night

Monday, July 15 > 5:30 – 8 pm (Registration begins June 1)
Come to the Dark Side–we have movies! Join us for an interactive screening of the first Star Wars movie ever released; Star Wars IV: A New Hope. Many Bothans died to bring you these interactive scripts, so trust in the Force and prepare yourself for an out-of-this-world experience! Registration required; all supplies provided by the library. Space is limited!

Teen Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament!

Saturday, July 20 > 11 am – 3 pm (Registration begins June 1)
Are you ready to smash your way to victory? Join us for our summer Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament! Feel free to bring your own Joy Cons (or other controllers compatible with the Nintendo Switch console). Top placers (and raffle winners) will receive GameStop giftcards! COMPETITORS MUST CHECK IN BY 11:30 TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENT! Free play and check-in begin at 11:00. Registration required–space is limited!

Teen Parkour With Phoenix Freerunning Academy

Saturday, July 27 > 2 – 3 pm (Registration begins June 1)
Join the staff from Phoenix Freerunning Academy as they instruct us on all aspects of movement, specializing in parkour and freerunning. Phoenix Freerunning Academy is the only gym designed specifically for parkour and freerunning in the entire state! It is their goal to help educate, promote and unify the parkour and freerunning communities of Michigan and to teach everyone how to practice the growing sport of parkour in a fun and safe manner. Teen Nerf Mobile Games

Wednesday, July 31 > 3 – 4 pm (Registration begins June 1)
Are you NERF enough? Have a blast with your friends during NERF Mobile Games hosted by Michigan’s family funnyman, Joel Tacey. We provide all NERF equipment including blasters, darts, team vests, and safety goggles. Registration required! Due to space limitations summer library activities cannot accommodate special groups. Sew Crafty: Teen DIY Upcycled Book Bags

Monday, August 5 > 6:30 – 8 pm (Registration begins June 1)
Want to make an awesome bag or pouch from an old hardback book? Learn how at the library! Use it for school supplies, as a purse, or however you want! Registration required. All supplies provided, space is limited.

 

Teen Summer Reading Tie-Dye Finale Party

Friday, August 9 > 12 – 2 pm (Registration begins June 1)
Tie-dye T-shirts, enjoy some snacks, and maybe even win prizes at our Teen Summer Reading Program finale party! Register with your size to reserve a library-provided shirt (limited quantity) or bring your own to tie-dye! At the end of the party, we’ll be holding the Teen Summer Reading Program Grand Prize drawing and announcing the winners!  WEAR OLD CLOTHES – TIE-DYE DOES NOT WASH OUT! Looking to add a bit of magic to the coming school year? Join us to transfigure a normal notebook into a Monster Book of Monsters, conjure up golden snitch slime, and make a wand pencil that Ollivander himself would find enchanting! Space is limited, all supplies provided.
