Summer Reading Monday, June 1 - Saturday, August 8

All ages. Read over the summer and earn prizes! Track your time spent reading on the free Beanstack app or pick up a paper log from the Information Desk. When you finish your reading challenge, check in with the librarian at the Information Desk to receive your prizes. Youth finishers will receive a book of their choice to take home, a spin on our new prize wheel, and an entry into the grand prize drawing.

The last day to turn in your log and claim your prize is Saturday, August 8. Limit one challenge per participant.

  • Unearth a Story Storytime

    Friday, July 10 at 10:30 AM Ages birth – 5 years, with a caring adult.  Get ready for a dino-mite storytime that includes songs, rhymes, movements, and stories that let little explorers hatch their big imaginations while building early literacy skills. Register for Unearth a Story Storytime.

  • Rock Painting Party

    Monday, July 13 at 2 PM All ages. Paint a rock (or two) to add to our snake, William Snakespeare! All supplies will be provided. Register for Rock Painting Party.

  • Dinosaur Drawing Workshop with Corinne Roberts

    Thursday, July 6 at 11 AM Thursday, July 6 at 1 PM Ages 6-11, with a caring adult. Using basic shapes, learn to create your favorite dinosaurs with illustrator and artist Corinne Roberts.  No prior drawing experience is needed. Adult supervision is required for the entire session. No younger siblings, please.  Register for one session only.

  • STEAM Discovery Stations

    Saturday, July 18 at 11 AM Ages 5-12.  Explore a variety of STEAM activities, such as Snap Circuits, marble runs, building projects, and more, at your own pace. Register for STEAM Discovery Stations.

  • Kevin Devine Music

    Monday, July 20 at 11 AM All ages.  Join Kevin Devine for a rollicking, participatory summer reading concert! Kevin is an award-winning children’s entertainer, songwriter & recording artist and proud Michigander who has performed thousands of concerts over the past three decades for children and families across the country.   • Lego Free Building

    Wednesday, July 22 at 6 PM Ages 5-11. If you enjoy building with Lego, drop in to free build your own Lego creations using the Library’s bricks. Drop in. No Registration Required.

    Wednesday, July 29 at 4 PM Wednesday, July 29 at 6 PM Ages 8-11 years. Leave no stone unturned as participants explore rocks, minerals, and the processes that formed them. Through experiments and observation, participants learn how scientists identify mystery specimens and uncover the stories written in stone. No younger siblings, please. Please register for only one session. Register for Leslie Nature Center: Rock On!
