Opportunities for Writing Workshops Kathleen Ripley Leo offers advanced fiction, novel writing, memoir writing and poetry workshops from time to time for intermediate and advanced writers She limits them to 8 students, and they are held for six sessions. Fiction workshops includes discussion of pertinent elements of fiction with an emphasis on character revealing writing assignments, critiquing of written work, assignments. Poetry workshops emphasize developing the metaphors inherent in the poet.s body of work, experimenting with extending metaphor into more compressed rhythmic language, expanding the felt idea. We decide together on the dates when the workshop will meet in order to coincide with everyone.s schedules.
