Calling all writers! Are you looking for an opportunity to share your work and meet with other writers? Join us for our 2020 Local Author Fair, a day devoted to celebrating writers in the Southeast Michigan area, on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
Who can participate?
All local authors are welcome to apply. If you live in the area and have fiction or nonfiction, published within the last two years, for children, teens, or adults, we want to hear from you. Self-published writers are also encouraged to apply. Space is limited and preference will be given to Northville residents.
Why should I participate?
Each participant will have a designated space to display and promote their book(s) throughout the event. You will get to meet other writers. You can make new contacts and connect with old friends. You will get to interact with your readers. Whether you already have a large fan-base or you’re looking to meet new people who would be interested in your work, this is an opportunity to interact with your audience.
How do I apply?
Submissions must include the Local Author Fair Application form and a copy of your book. The book that you submit will then belong to Northville District Library. It may or may not be added to the library’s collection, but it will not be returned to you.
When are applications due?
We will be accepting applications until December 15, 2019. At that time, all applications will be reviewed and participants will be contacted.
Can I sell my books at the event?
Yes! You will be responsible for supplying your own books to sell. Library staff will not be available to help with sales. You will be responsible for providing change and/or a credit card machine for purchases. The books you sell must be offered at or below retail price, and not any higher.
