September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!

Get back to  school with “THE SMART CARD” – Your very own free Northville District Library card!  Kids who live in  Northville—and who are old enough to write their own name—are invited to sign up for a library card during the month of September and receive a fun gift bag! Activity offered September 1—30. Please sign up for a library card at the Circulation Desk in September.

Let’s Talk about Bullying with Maria Dismondy!

This event is intended for kids ages 4 – 12, and families are welcome.
Let’s talk about BULLYING at the Northville District Library with award-winning children’s book author, Maria Dismondy. Maria will join us in person, leading a discussion with kids about bullying, sharing her inspiring picture book The Fruit Salad Friend, and kids will take home a fun craft project. This event is intended for kids ages 4 – 12, and families are welcome. Parents are required to stay with their children during the program to help guide them through these discussions. This program is part of the NLA Let’s Talk About Series. Online registration required.

Barking Book Buddies! Read to a  Dog Program

Saturday, November 9, 2019 > 1—3 pm
Sign-up begins November 2nd!
Reading to dogs helps kids improve self-confidence and reading fluency!  Barking book buddies from the Fur Angels  Pet Therapy Group will visit the library for quiet one-on-one sessions with kids reading independently up through grade 5. Participating kids will also receive an I LOVE TO READ plush dog to read to at home. Sign up begins one week before the scheduled program, November 2nd.   • Certain activities require a FREE TICKET available immediately prior to daily events at the Information Desk. Expect a waiting line for tickets and please understand shows may “sell out.”
  • Tickets may not be reserved in advance. A maximum of four tickets per person.
  • “Drop-In” activities do not require a ticket.
  • Tween programs are exclusively for kids ages 9 – 12. Registration is required for Tween events. Register online per registration dates.
